B. Joseph Badalian, chief operating officer for Pipeline Health, has announced the appointment of Matt Whaley, RN, to the role of Chief Executive Officer for Community Hospital of Huntington Park, effective Feb. 28.
Whaley is a seasoned healthcare executive who brings expertise and experience in leadership, nursing, policy formation, change management and innovation.
“His special interests include staff development, physician engagement, expansion, improvement of operational efficiencies and building great teams—all interests that align with ours,” Badalian said.
Whaley comes to Community Hospital of Huntington Park from KPC Health in Orange County, where he had responsibility for South Coast Global Medical Center and Chapman Global Medical Center. With that organization since 2019, he has held the positions of CEO, COO and CNO at those facilities. His accomplishments there include implementation of a Da Vinci surgical robot program, physician recruitment and facility growth.
Previously, Whaley served as an administrator at Southern California Hospital at Hollywood, part of the Alta Hospitals System, Inc.
Among his educational achievements, he has earned a doctorate in healthcare administration (all but dissertation), an MBA, a BSN and an ASN degree all from the University of Phoenix.
