Enhanced recruitment efforts are underway to address staffing challenges at Pipeline Health’s four Los Angeles-area hospitals.
In short, the Human Resources team is working to overcome employee turnover with efforts to increase retention of current employees while also recruiting new hires.
“We are working hard to recruit qualified staff at all of our hospitals and, in doing that, we will reduce the high costs of contract labor,” explained Pipeline’s Chief Human Resources Officer Lisa Guzman.
In recent months, HR leaders have restructured the LA market’s recruitment team, bringing recruiters on site to be more familiar with each hospital.
“This way they will have a better understanding of their facility as well as specific department and management needs,” Guzman said.
Training for the recruiters – with clarified performance expectations – and Applicant Tracking training for managers have been implemented in recent weeks. More than 95 managers attended the applicant tracking training to better understand the recruitment process.
Meanwhile, the recruitment team is appearing at local career fairs and planning some recruitment events exclusively for Pipeline – including the introduction of virtual events.
